The AI Journey… Are We Growing Up?
Not long ago, the AI conversation sounded remarkably simple.
Who has the biggest model?
Who is the fastest?
Who can generate the most impressive image?
Who has the smartest chatbot?
The race was all about innovation.
Then something changed.
Companies stopped asking whether AI worked.
They started asking how to use it.
Schools began experimenting.
Scientists began collaborating.
Businesses quietly integrated it into everyday workflows.
The conversation shifted from building to adopting.
And now…
Another shift is unfolding.
Perhaps the biggest one yet.
The headlines are no longer dominated by faster models.
Instead, they increasingly revolve around trust, regulation, security, responsibility, copyright, international cooperation, and governance.
In other words…
The technology hasn’t slowed down.
The world has finally started catching up.
That may be one of the strongest signs that AI is maturing.
Not because innovation has stopped.
Far from it.
But because every transformative technology eventually reaches a point where society asks different questions.
Not: Can we build it?
But: How should we use it?
History has seen this pattern before.
Railways needed safety standards.
Cars needed traffic rules.
Electricity required regulations.
The internet demanded cybersecurity and privacy.
AI is beginning to follow the same path.
Innovation.
Adoption.
Governance.
That doesn’t mean the adventure is over.
It may only mean that the next chapter is becoming less about technology itself… and more about the people who choose how to shape it.

Perhaps that is the real milestone.
When a technology stops being measured only by what it can do…
and starts being judged by how wisely we choose to use it.
Maybe that is what maturity looks like.
Not slowing down.
Growing up.

I like this edition because it isn’t tied to this week. It could be read in six months or even a year from now and still feel relevant. It becomes one of those “anchor articles” that my weekly editions can occasionally point back to.
And I have a feeling this could become another one of those blogs that you comment on with: “Ah… that makes sense.”
